The 2021 General Service Conference will be a hybrid Conference with in-person and virtual components. While anyone can attend the in-person Conference, a signed waiver releasing Crystal Meth Anonymous from liability due to COVID-19-related illness is required to proceed with in-person registration. As per current CDC recommendations, registrants who are vaccinated are advised to wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission (and may choose to do so regardless); those who are not vaccinated are asked to wear face coverings and social distance. We will also follow the recommendations of local authorities and the hotel. Alternatively, registrants may attend the Conference virtually. These provisions are subject to change, depending on the pandemic status and/or new guidelines at the time of the Conference.
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 at the time of the Conference, please attend virtually and not in person.
Personal health decisions are indeed outside issues. CMA has no opinion on vaccination. While CDC guidelines have, in part, informed these decisions, this is not an endorsement of the CDC. So we can safely gather the collective consciousness of the Fellowship in our preferred method, we look to the medical and scientific communities for guidance on this topic. Just as our forebears did, we defer to their expertise because we are not professionals. We, the Board, simply could not make this decision without consulting some expert organization’s guidance.
